Conferences 2026: CEPR Summer Conferences

1 min read

Conferences organized by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR)

We are delighted to share these moments from a remarkable summer of CEPR events here in Gerzensee! Over the past weeks we welcomed three great symposia to the study center — the European Summer Symposium in Economic Theory (ESSET), the Climate Change and the Environment Symposium (CCES), and the European Summer Symposium in Financial Markets (ESSFM).

ESSET 2026 brought together more than 100 participants to discuss the frontier of research in economic theory, spanning mechanism design and economic narratives across micro- and macroeconomics. CCES 2026 gathered the growing community of scholars working on climate economics and climate finance, complemented by a policy session with Beatrice Weder di Mauro. ESSFM 2026 welcomed leading financial economists to discuss corporate finance, financial intermediation and asset pricing, with focus sessions on banking and nonbanking, and on technology and the future of work.

Across all three conferences, participants had ample time to discuss their research, exchange ideas and start new projects — the open, unhurried exchange that has long defined the Gerzensee experience.

Thanks to all conference participants for the excellent presentations, lively discussions and debates, and to the scientific organizers of each program for putting together such strong lineups. A special thanks also goes to CEPR for this long-standing and successful collaboration.

We hope this summer's symposia contributed to an inspiring and productive research season for everyone involved!
