We are pleased to begin 2026 with the launch of our redesigned website. With a clearer structure and a modern look, it offers an improved way to explore our programs, events, and resources.

The year ahead promises a vibrant mix of academic activities and inspiring exchanges. We look forward to welcoming participants and partners as we continue fostering learning and dialogue at the Study Center Gerzensee.

Central Bankers Courses
We have planned an attractive program of courses for central bank staff with 179 selected participants from 75 central banks all over the world. We will offer three courses for mid-level managers on Monetary Policy & Exchange Rates, Financial Stability, Money and Payments, and Financial Markets. We will also offer two courses for analysts and researchers on Inflation Forecasting and Monetary Economics.

Graduate Training
The 2025/2026 edition of our Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students is well underway with 36 students from 9 universities. We eagerly anticipate the return of all students as well as our outstanding lecturers. Prof Fernando Alvarez (University of Chicago) will be the first lecturer to visit Gerzensee in the new year!

 We are delighted to announce our 2026 Program of Advanced Courses in Economics with courses on Causal Inference, Econometrics of Macro and Micro Interactions, Information Frictions, Writing Research Paper; Behavioral Theory, Industrial Organization of the Financial System and Endogenous Markets Structure. PhD students, faculty members and research economists are welcome to apply!

Our 2026 Program of Law and Economics Courses will include courses Law and Finance of Venture Capital, Economic Analysis of Law with Cross-Border Effects and Environmental Regulation. PhD students, faculty members and research economists are welcome to apply!

Conferences & Events
This spring we will host a Conference on Financial Intermediation jointly organized with BIS, CEPR and SFI. At the end of June we will host the Summer Workshop on Money, Banking, Payments & Finance co-organized with the Federal Reserve Board and the Bank of Canada. In October we will host our biennial Conference on Monetary Economics, co-organized with the the Swiss National Bank in partnership with the Journal of Monetary Economics. Don’t miss our call for papers, which will be out soon.

We especially look forward to welcoming researchers attending symposia and workshops we host for our partner research networks: CEPR and the Swiss Finance Institute.

In November we look forward to hosting the inaugural Gerzensee Economic Policy Dialogue, bringing together policy makers, academics and practitioners to discuss the Economic Challenges of an Demographic Change.
