Martin joined us in April 2022 after previously holding positions at the University of St.Gallen, Tilburg University and the Swiss National Bank.
During his tenure, Martin was responsible for the academic leadership and executive management of the Study Center, working closely together with our senior academics and program managers, our administration team, our research associates, as well as the wonderful crew who run our seminar hotel.
Martin's research focused on the interaction between economic policy and household finance, using transaction-level data to study retail asset allocation, payment behavior, and consumer spending. He continues to serve as an adjunct professor of financial economics at the University of St. Gallen.
Martin will take over as Head of Economic Affairs at the Swiss National Bank from 1st October. We wish him all the best in his new position!
